Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: The Adulterous Woman

The Bible includes stories of women, both named and unnamed, that impart timeless lessons that may impact us even today. The manner in which Jesus interacted with women characterized by their particular sin shows His gentle, forgiving approach to demonstrate love and justice.
The Adulterous Woman
The passage in John 8 shows how Jesus adeptly managed the Pharisees while extending grace to a woman caught in adultery referred to as "The Adulterous Woman."
A few years ago I did a #biblequiltjournal page to summarize my notes from a local Bible study on this topic. I chose to do a "freestyle" page, using the printed handout of the passage we were studying. I added a printable sticker from an online Bible journaling class, which served as the main illustration.
This preparation before the in-person study provided me with some structure on the page so that I could simply write notes as I listened to the lesson. Afterward I added a few embellishments and shaded the background of some of the quilt blocks.

The speaker shared a song by Brandon Lake as part of the introduction to her lesson. I created a QR code so I could add this sensory element to the page, which serves to enhance my recall when I review it later on.
On the back of the page, I continued with my note-taking, using floral stickers and some strips of washi tape to define spaces and highlight key points.

I inserted the pages into my Women of the Word Bible Quilt Journal, using a disc-bound system so I can shift pages around as I streamline my process.
What women in the Bible do YOU want to learn more about?
When I first started doing BQ pages on female characters, I made individualized tabs as I did each one. If you're attending a Bible study which is focused on a particular character, these tabs can provide you with a quick way to categorize your journal. They are available as a separate printable and also included in the Women of the Word BQJ options below.
Old Testament
Dinah Tamar Potiphar's Wife Puah & Shiprah
Merab & Michal Abigail Bathsheba Tamar, daughter of King David
Abishag Queen of Sheba Jezebel
New Testament
