Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Esther

Unlike many of the women we've learned about in the Old Testament this year, Esther's narrative unfolds as an entire book. This provides us with the challenge of summarizing a whole book of the Bible.
Here's a sample of this type of scripture writing process:

I started with a bold title, then began writing verses in columns broken up occasionally by washi tape borders and stitch lines.

Then I shaded the background of some of the quilt blocks, highlighting keywords and names.

You can snag an Esther template from this Old Testament set:
I'm using this set of Bible tabs in my Journaling Through the Word Bible Quilt. (more on this HUGE project to come!) I like the quick summary these tabs have printed on them.
In addition to the scriptural summary, I'm also gathering up notes from various studies to capture Esther's story in my Women of the Word BQ Journal.
I used acryclic stamps for the title and incorporated creative elements from an online Bible journaling class.
I wrote my notes, adding some stickers and shading along the way.

On the back side of this page, I included an insert from my BQ Notes Journal from a Bible study on Esther in 2022. Then I took some additional notes from resources this year.

I like this layering of reflections and insights over time, encouraging me to see new things in the text each time I read it.
How areYOU approaching Esther's story??
