Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Gomer

The Bible includes several female characters with a tainted background, yet who are used to illustrate deeper concepts.
During a Bible study with women in my community group, I took notes on one such woman, Gomer, in my Women of the Bible journal.
Gomer
Since Gomer had a checkered past and exuded a shameful countenance, I printed the Woman Weeping template to begin a #biblequiltjournal page on her.
Because her story is integrally aligned with Hosea's, I printed the Hosea title page on the back side of the Woman Weeping template so I could capture personal details on each of them individually as we progressed through the study book, No Empty Word.
I reviewed the Hosea page in my Journaling through the Word Bible Quilt to capture the flavor of the overall storyline before beginning the book used in our study group.

I also looked back at sermon notes from a series our pastor did on Hosea.
I made color copies of the sermon notes and punched them with a Happy Planner punch so I could add the pages into my journal.
I could have jotted a note to myself to refer back to my 2021 BQ Notes Journal with the sermon series, but figured I'm more likely to review this content along with my other material on Gomer and Hosea plus it allows me to have it available during our Bible study discussions.
I love the way I can integrate all these different notes into one section using my disc-bound Women of the Word BQ Journal.
I attached the Gomer tab from the set of Women of the Bible tabs and wrote in Hosea's name on the back side. This helps me categorize my journal in a way that makes sense to me.
Having these pieces in place help me feel more prepared for the launch of a new Bible study topic.
