Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Widow of Zarephath

In stark contrast to Jezebel, we encounter the generous and humble widow of Zarephath during Elijah's flight from Jezebel's threat upon his life.

Since this lesson was from the Women of the Word Bible Journaling Conference, I utilzed some printables offered from the speaker to help illustrate the page. I printed these on clear full page label sheets to make stickers of her images.

This woman was in desperate circumstances and about to fix a last meal for herself and her son out of her remaining meagre rations. Despite her desitution she responds to Elijah's request with humility and obedience, and the Lord provides for them.

Her faith is confirmed when Elijah prays for her son to be restored to life and the Lord listens to his heartfelt petition.

Tamar, page 2, with notes in progress

I finished off the page with some washi tape and stitch lines, then inserted the page into my Women of the Word BQ Journal as a refreshing contrast after Jezebel's story.
