Moving along in Judges, we encounter the story of a valiant warrior: Jephthah, the Gileadite. As a son of a prostitute, he was ostracized from his half brothers. Yet when they needed help in battle, the elders of Gilead sought him out.
Jephthah made a serious vow to the Lord as he headed into battle against the Ammonites.
When Jephthah comes home after being successful in battle, that's when we learn about his daughter. Her name isn't given, but it's emphasized that she's his only child.
We can tell she's familiar with the Law in her response to her father and seems to have an obedient spirit.
I estimated that I'd likely only need a partial page for this story. Punched and inserted into my Women of the Word BQ Journal, I can add more notes or move pages around in my disc-bound journal.
