Rahab's story is found in the book of Joshua. A sinful prostitute, she was a Canaanite living in the city of Jericho.
She was an outsider and an adulteress, yet God used her for His plan.
Rahab was instrumental in protecting two foreign spies sent by Joshua, saving their lives in a complex situation. She boldly negotiated for the safety of her family members in the process.
For Rahab's page in my Women of the Word Bible Quilt Journal, I began with a blank piece of card stock and used a brick stencil to create a wall background. I found an adhesive red twine from my scrapbooking supplies to use for the scarlet cord.
I printed out the passages from Joshua chapters 2 and 6 to get Rahab's story in full context, highlighting and note-taking along the way.

I used some of the embellishments provided by the speaker, Lori Spencer, in the Women of the Word Bible Journaling Conference to help illustrate my BQJ page. I added notes from various podcasts and devotional resources.

God ultimately blessed Rahab and her family. She became the great, great grandmother of King David. This put her in the family line of Jesus.

Rahab was also honored in Hebrews 11 for her bold act of faith.
Despite her complicated background, James calls her "a righteous woman" ---
