Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Zelophehad's Daughters

When women are mentioned by name in the Bible, it catches our attention and makes us curious about their significance.
Such was the case when I read about Zelophehad's daughters in the book of Numbers.

I began with a partial page for these five sisters in my Women of the Word Bible Quilt Journal, guessing on how much space I'd ultimately need for their story.

For page 2, I wanted to stamp some natural elements to illustrate the land this passage is about. Oops! When I dropped the acrylic stamp and it bounced, making two unintended smudges on the paper, I stamped even more floral stems to make it fuller across the bottom of the page.

In chapter 36 of Numbers, we see that these sisters were obedient in their response to the terms of their inheritance.

I was impressed by the boldness with which these women approached the male leaders, how fervently they made their request for their inheritance, and how they fulfilled their roles.
Reflection
What struck you the most about the story of these women?
What long-term impact did they have for other women?
As seen in photos throughout this post, I'm using the Happy planner punch to build my Women of the Word BQ Journal over time.
