Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Jezebel

Of all the women we've studied thus far, Jezebel is the one most universally proclaimed as wicked. She married Ahab who had his own nasty reputation. Together they were quite a notorious pair!
Born into a royal household and raised as a Baal follower, she continued this practice herself and forced her subjects into Baal worship as well.
Her manipulative tactics extended to relentless persecution of the prophets of God. Even when Elijah challenged and defeated the prophets of Baal, she was undeterred and threatened him specifically.
Jezebel was power-hungry and schemed a murderous plot to gain territory for Ahab. Confronted by Elijah, King Ahab seems to repent yet we don't get a hint of this from Jezebel.
Her dramatic demise fulfills a very specific prophecy of Elijah's.
I began my summary of Jezebel with a drab gray piece of card stock, using some acrylic stamps and stickers to help illustrate the page. I added a tab and inserted her page into my Women of the Word BQ Journal.
