Leviticus is the third book of the Bible and is part of the Pentateuch. It has 27 chapters.
Its name is derived from Levi, the tribe of Israel designated to serve as priests, and includes instructions for them about how to perform all their duties in an honorable way.
The purity laws basically reflect how a holy God is explaining to His people how to worship Him.
Bible Quilting Leviticus
I started my BQJ summary on Leviticus by adding a title centered on the top half of the page and making a border with washi tape featuring grains and grasses. I decided to use black stickers for each chapter number and capture the highlights of each chapter in a rectangular quilt block, providing some overall consistency for the 2-page spread.

"Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." Leviticus 19:18

Once I completed the #scripturewriting, I looked at the whole page and shaded some additional color in the background of the quilt squares. I used the color palette of the washi tape border at the top of the page as a guide for which colored pencils to use.
"I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy." Leviticus 11:44
You may be inspired to do a separate BQ page on holiness, the various festivals, sabbath, atonement, grace, or tithing.
Follow your heart as you encounter themes you're curious about and want to explore further.
As you read through Leviticus in your Bible, you may want to highlight keywords or phrases that impact you. I like to think of these as leaving "breadcrumbs" for your next read-through.
Perhaps you want to jot down facts on a flip card. The introduction to each book can provide you with an overview and historical context.
Or you may even be inspired to embellish passages in your Bible with hand drawn illustrations or stickers. #biblejournaling
ALL the overlaps of reading, scripture writing, fact-seeking, and note-taking will reinforce our learning.
If your're an auditory learner, consider listening to the book read aloud or select a podcast to deepen your understanding of this very detailed book.
