An ambitious goal is to read through the Bible, which can be done chronologically or through the sequential order in which it is printed. A variety of Bible reading plans are available to choose from and you can select whatever timeframe works best for you.

If you'd like a visual/auditory overview of the Bible before you begin your reading plan, I found these animated overview videos on the Bible Project site that will help us get "the big picture" of how the individual writings of the Bible were put together.
Whenever I have this goal to read through the Bible in a year or designated personal timeframe, I like to visualize my progress by coloring in each book on my Bible reading tracker.
Having accountability partners is a great way to achieve your goals, so I'd like to invite you in to another ambitious goal.

How would you like to join your fellow sisters in the BQ Community in Bible Quilting our way through the entire Word - - -
handwriting passages that help us summarize each book of the Bible in our BQ Journals and gradually developing a personal resource that we can reference as we engage in deeper studies?
Note: Each of us will approach this differently, so pace yourself and make choices on how this project matches your own study style, phase of life, and personal goals. I'll be sharing my process and providing some starting points that will help you launch your own path forward.

Most of the time our focus in Bible Quilting has been on harvesting scriptures according to a particular topic, and we've "stitched verses together" from both the Old and New Testament to see how this theme courses throughout the whole Bible.
This has been a wonderful way to see how God's promises for His people unfolded over time.

This Bible Quilting through the Word project is different. Essentially, we'll be stepping back and forth between the micro level of scripture (single verses in our quilt squares) to the macro level (summary of a book captured in a BQ page or multi-page spread).
As we navigate our Bible Quilting project through the entire Bible, verse by verse and book by book, it may be helpful to step back occasionally to get a broader view of larger sections.
To help us gain the overall scope, I'm providing these overview video links that you can watch as we begin quilting the Old and New Testament sections.

The Bible Project is an amazing resource, providing video overviews of each book of the Bible. As I share my introductory posts, I'll be sharing these links and posters. If you have kids/grandkids reading through the Bible with you, this is a great way to launch each book together.
Books of the Bible flip card set
All projects go better with a plan and tools to keep us organized. I designed a set of flip cards for the Books of the Bible for us to take notes along the way. You can use these for details you'd like to add to your BQ pages or perhaps as a supplemental resource of facts.
These flip cards can be printed on colorful card stock according to the classifications of the books (e.g. History, Poetry, Prophets, Gospels, etc.)
I'm going to be sharing posts about each book of the Bible and how I'm developing my BQ Journal along the way, so stay tuned. I'll be offering a variety of options for assembling your own Journaling Through the Word Bible Quilt.
I've got the main cover paired with the Bible reading tracker to print on the inside cover.
Tip: For templates and interior pages of my BQ journals, I prefer to print on 67-lb vellum bristol paper. I use heavier card stock for cover pages.
Some of you may already have notes on various books of the Bible. I've prepared binder labels you can slide into the spine of a 3-ring binder. You could essentially insert your BQ pages into a folder and defer the decision about how you'd like to bind your journal til later.
For the interior pages, I've prepared some overview pages for the Old & New Testaments so you can take notes on the unique characteristics of each section of the Bible.
I'll be using some title pages for each book of the Bible, gradually releasing additional ones along the way. I'm developing this journal as a digital product to allow each of us the most flexibility regarding our approach, order, and binding preferences. My plan is to ultimately provide a full version, yet will be offering some parts of it separately so we can build up our journals as we go.
Here's a preliminary start on the Old Testament section.
You may decide to mix and match templates. For example, I inserted Noah's Ark and Joseph's Coat into my Genesis section. This allows me to side step into those stories and have a structured space designated for them.
You can personalize this process however you want.
If you're studying the book of Esther in a Bible study, you may want to download the Old Testament title pages to summarize the book of Esther and then may also choose a more feminine template to capture the essence of her personal character.
