In April we're going to explore the topic of SALVATION using the Monthly Bible Quilt Journal, "Building on a Firm Foundation."
If you don't have the Monthly BQJ, you can follow along with us using the BQ Calendar, another BQ journal, or whatever personal study materials you have that fit this particular season of your life.
There are many ways we can be creative with scripture, savoring the message of salvation throughout the Old and New Testament.
A few years ago on a trip, I used my son's playing cards as a stencil to make some quilt squares for verses on Salvation.
You may access the year's full list of references as a free printable with code FREELIST. They're formatted as bookmarks, so cut out the one on Salvation and let's get started!
For the April calendar page, cut out the colorful "Salvation" title from the back of the journal and adhere to the page. Then color and decorate with washi tape or seasonal stickers.
I played around with a gelato swirl as the base layer before doing anything else, then I added a washi tape border. I wrote the dates on the April calendar page, the daily verses, the next BQ Zoom chat, and a few seasonal stickers for Easter.
Thanks to Tracy, a Bible Quilter from Alabama, for curating our collection of verses this month.
Writing out the scriptures onto a flip card set helps us become familiar with the verses and the surrounding passages to understand them in context. Once completed, the flip cards make a handy personal reference or a resource to share with a friend who might need extra encouragement from the Word.
If you want to shorten the time spent prepping your flip cards, we've got a digital version of all the verses typed out and formatted. Just print and cut, then slide the cards onto a binder ring!
After you've gotten your scriptures gathered up, you're all set to begin the 2-page spread in the Monthly BQ Journal. It's also available as a printable if you don't have the journal or would like an extra to share with a friend.
It's always so rewarding to see scriptures blend together as we fill up these pages! I'll share my completed pages in the Comments below and invite you to do the same. 😊
The featured template of the month is this Lighthouse was designed by Alice from Alabama. We can use verses from our reference list that impact us or create with additional scriptures we've discovered along the way as we study this topic.
With the spring season, you may want to browse the shop for some templates to use on your blank pages this month. For example, here's a beautiful butterfly page my sis-in-law did on the topic of Salvation.
Since there are so many meaningful passages on Salvation, you may choose to do some Bible journaling, too.
If you're doing the ABC journal, you can add some "S" scriptures about Salvation and Savior on your "S" page.
Our focus for April in the BQ calendar is about preparing our hearts for Easter and considering how we're living complete in Christ.
Mark your calendars for our next BQ Chat to discuss this month's topic and some Easter pages:
