BQJ Pages for Teachers

Kids have such big hearts to share things with their teachers. You can help corral their creativity by guiding them through a BQJ page to show their appreciation to their devoted teachers at school or church.

This is an example page that was done by a sweet girl as a "Thank You" to her teacher at the end of the school year. Her Mom purchased a BQ journal and had her daughter personalize a page before they gifted it to the teacher. Isn't this the sweetest?

Bible Quilting with Kids

Do you have some kiddos that do Bible Quilting with you?

Their enthusiasm is contagious and it's refreshing that they don't have the typical barriers we do in terms of getting everything "just right."

They just go for it!

It's wonderful to tap into their sense of curiosity and to teach them how to find scriptures related to what's going on their world.

Maybe your daughter is concerned about making new friends at the start of the school year?

BQJ Pit Stops

Recently I had a solo road trip to a wedding in Texas and took the opportunity to ask a mother-daughter pair if they'd be available for a BQ meet-up as I passed through their town on my way home.

They said "yes" to my random offer and we coordinated details to pick a meeting place.

I navigated my way through thunderstorms and arrived at our rendezvous point to see an eager face peeking out the window. I knew immediately we were going to have a great chat!

And, indeed we did.

Imperfect hearts

I started playing around with some heart designs the other day, intending on making them into a balanced, pretty template.

I traced a couple using a heart-shaped cookie cutter and did some freehand. I probably don't need to tell you how difficult it is to draw a heart consistently and symmetrically, do I?

Sometimes we just need to embrace imperfection and not get hung up on having something "just right."

I copied sets of these imperfect hearts on some different backgrounds to add a little texture and color. Then I printed some on colored card stock to see how that looked.
