Goodness

Have you considered doing a BQJ for a son or daughter?

Perhaps a niece/nephew or grandkiddo?

I've got a Bible Quilt Journal in progress for each of my sons. They have each contributed to their own journals by writing scriptures here and there over the years.

I've also invited them to color in the elements so their journals will reflect their own creative personalities.

Occasionally, I'll pull out their journals and work on them as I'm praying over the boys. Recently I did this page on goodness, adding a photo of my son as a toddler with his little face peeking out from one of those wooden cutouts they always had at the pumpkin patch. It's a reminder to me of the "goodness" of those days, simply enjoying family time on a seasonal outing.

These journals are a work-in-progress. When I'm creating in them I feel closer to my boys as I'm reflecting on particular verses to include for them.

Someday I'll turn these treasures over to my sons when the timing seems right. I really don't have an "end result" in mind and don't intend to have them fully completed because I'd like the boys to have space to continue adding onto them.

I'm okay with stewarding these for now, savoring the "goodness" of sweet memories as I tuck in scriptures and wee photos on some of the pages for a pop of personality,

Consider inviting one of your loved ones to partner with you in a "conjoint" journal that each of you contribute to over time. Passing a journal back and forth could be an opportunity to shepherd their spiritual journey in a unique way. The combo of different penmanship and creative styles can be a beautiful blend!
