I've been enjoying have a dedicated place to do scripture writing on Christmas topics this year. How about you?

Each Sunday of Advent, I'm adding sermon notes into my Christmas Bible Quilt® Journal.

I set up a little station of holiday washi, glittery stickers, metallic markers and some festive scrapbook paper so I'd have supplies readily accesible.

As I was sorting through some past holiday cards, I discovered one that had the phrase

"Oh, come let us adore Him!"

This pairs nicely with one of the Christmas journal pages.

I trimmed scrapbook paper to fit the journal, glued it onto the blank page, then centered the greeting card onto it.

Since the card was already hole-punched from being on my Christmas card blessing ring, I tied a ribbon through the hole which provides some extra texture. I added some other embellishments to complete the page.

Then I used the remainder of the scrapbook paper as border edges on the "O Come Let Us Adore Him" template.

I chose "Mary's Song" from Luke 1 as the passage for this page since it focuses on her rejoicing in God's favor upon her.

I carried the remainder of the passage over to the blank side of the template, using some of the same embellishments to tie these pages together.

In the blank space at the bottom of the page, I used some bold black-and-white stickers to spell out the title - - - "Mary's Magnificat" - - - which is how this passage is commonly referred to.

You may decide to divide your Christmas BQJ into sections based on holiday sermons, favorite hymns or to summarize Advent devotionals. Embrace the journey however it unfolds for you this season, knowing you can develop it more next year.

You may notice that I'm not doing my pages in any particular order or sequence.

I like following the nudges of the Holy Spirit to follow themes as I encounter them.

Sometimes I just flip through, coloring elements or adding washi tape borders.

It really is a flexible process!

Enjoy!!
