Anticipating the holiday season with its family traditions and corporate worship opportunities is a highlight of the year for most of us. With all the increased activities, though, it can become a little wearying.
Over the years I've experimented with various ways to "settle" into the holidays. This year I'm excited to dive into a new Bible Quilt Journal that's specifically designed for this poignant season.
The Christmas Bible Quilt® Journal
I selected a collection of some of our favorite BQ templates that have been designed by various BQ community members over the years and added some new ones to make this a fresh and festive journal for all of us to enjoy.
Some sections of the Christmas BQJ may be conducive to holiday sermons or to summarize Advent devotionals.
Other pages may inspire you to capture scripture passages in conjunction with your favorite holiday hymns.
Many of us find delight in cozy-ing up our homes for the holidays. We can decorate BQ pages with scriptures that warm our hearts and display these as part of our holiday decor, too.
Maybe you just need a little structure to help maintain focus on celebrating the birth of Jesus, the true gift of this season. We've got some pages to help slow our pace as well.
Whether you plan to incorporate this into your devotional time or invite family members to join you in creating pages together, this will be a fun journal to decorate with festive washi tape, stickers and bright holiday colors!

I've included some tag-style tabs at the back of the journal. One set has some Christmas-themed keywords and the other set is blank for you to add your own topics. I kept them the same size so that you can glue them back-to-back, sandwiched over a page, for greater durability.
If you want to add some extra texture, simply hole-punch and tie a Christmas-y ribbon on them. 🎗️
I've found that if I have a Bible Quilting "station" prepped, I'm more likely to carve out time for it during a busy season.
Gather up your stash of holiday washi tape, Christmas stickers, glitter pens, and favorite colored pencils to have all your inspirational supplies together. Then you'll be ready to settle in when you carve out some quiet moments.
We'll be discussing this journal in our monthly Zoom Chats and likely will be generating more ideas regarding how to incorporate it into our Christmas prep. You're invited to join us!
Tune into this #zoomchat at about the 35-minute mark to see a flip-through of a Christmas BQJ and see how I'm beginning to "warm up" the pages.
"The Christmas Bible Quilt Journal is beautiful and amazing."
