Refuge

If you have the Original Bible Quilt Journal, there are some pages following the #fruitofthespirit section that have some simple borders that provide an easy way to start a BQ page.

On this baseball stitch border page I added the "refuge" tab from the tag tab set, punching a hole in it to slide a ribbon through it for texture. Then I began writing scripture in the top lefthand corner, selecting verses on the topic of refuge.

I maintained a similar color palette of natural blues and greens to evoke a soothing feel to the overall page. I used a stencil to do one verse inside a circle to break up the blockiness, adding a strip of washi or a sticker occasionally to balance out the text.

Tip: For consistency, you could separate each of the verses with a baseball stitch. That approach would also decrease decision fatigue re: how to do the stitch lines.

Remember, friend, there's no "right or wrong" way to start a page. Just enjoy the time of being creative in His Word, taking refuge in His presence.
