Refuge

If you have the Original Bible Quilt Journal, there are some pages following the #fruitofthespirit section that have some simple borders that provide an easy way to start a BQ page.
On this baseball stitch border page I added the "refuge" tab from the tag tab set, punching a hole in it to slide a ribbon through it for texture. Then I began writing scripture in the top lefthand corner, selecting verses on the topic of refuge.
I maintained a similar color palette of natural blues and greens to evoke a soothing feel to the overall page. I used a stencil to do one verse inside a circle to break up the blockiness, adding a strip of washi or a sticker occasionally to balance out the text.
Tip: For consistency, you could separate each of the verses with a baseball stitch. That approach would also decrease decision fatigue re: how…












Getting started on something new can be somewhat daunting. Having reread Genesis this month as part of my Bible reading plan, I've been contemplating this verse about the Spirit of God hovering over the waters.
Perhaps as vulnerable beginners, we can pray for the Spirit of God to hover over us and gain courage to take the first steps in a new journey. 🙏
