Sweet Treats of Scripture

Candy Bible Verse Match-up Game

A while back I saw an Instagram post showing a Candy Bible Verse Match-up Game. I took a screenshot because I thought it might be a fun activity down the road.

Then this summer one of our local Bible Quilters had an idea for a template design displaying candy, reflecting on the sweetness of the Lord.

I put these ideas together for an interactive activity at our monthly BQ session.

I printed up some of the "Sweet Treats" templates and shopped for the candy mentioned in the original Insta post by Olivia.

I also created a flip card set of the suggested verses so we'd have the scriptures readily available to play our matching game.

Prior to the session I poured candy into bowls and cut out the flip cards.

Sweet Treats of Scripture Writing & Fellowship

Various candies paired with scripture verses to play a matching game

I put the flip cards into a stack and invited the October BQ session attendees to dive in!

  • Fall Bible Quilt Journaling session, playing the Candy Bible Verse match-up game
  • Local Bible Quilters

We had such a fun time reading each scripture aloud and matching it with the candy. It led to a brainstorming discussion of additional verses and/or candy. (ex: a "joy" scripture paired with Almond Joy)

  • Nov in 2026 BQ Calendar page in progress by local Bible Quilter

We each worked on different templates and even different BQ journals, yet we enjoyed the fellowship of creating with scripture and treating ourselves to a little chocolate along the way! 😋

Millie made an appearance and was a particular hit with our youngest Bible Quilter, who got started on her ABC Journal.
