How to Bible Quilt® the Love Chapter

Valentine season is a natural time to focus on the "Love chapter" as we often refer to 1 Corinthians 13.

I developed a template particularly for this passage in 1 Corinthians to give us all a head start #biblequilting these familiar verses.

You probably have some valentine-y washi tape with hearts or "love" on it, so I incorporated a couple of quilt squares sized just right for standard washi.

In honor of Valentine's Day, I printed my template on red card stock. This gave me a chance to play around with some glitter pens that show up nicely on a darker background. You can also print the template on white or pastel card stock for a totally different look.

Here's a process video to give you an overview of how I did my page:

Once you have your verses written in the quilt squares, then you're ready to embellish with stickers and washi tape.

In this photo you can see the long blank rectangles I reserved for washi tape.

Using white, silver, or gold glitter pens gives the page some shimmery accents and brightens up the overall look of the page.

Since I used the 8.5 x 11 formatted template, I added the page to my Monthly Bible Quilt Journal. After I was finished, I realized I hadn't added the reference verses. Since I didn't want to add anymore visual "clutter" to each quilt square, I simply wrote vs 4-8 after 1 Cor 13 at the bottom of the page.

Happy Valentine's season, my friends!

I hope you enjoy some special time with YOUR loved ones this week and remember that YOU ARE LOVED unconditionally by our heavenly Father.

"Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the Truth. It always protects, always trusts, hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
