Prayer

Doing a Prayer page is always a great place to start!

Prayer template in my son's BQJ

I just finished up this prayer page in my son's journal. It's a hybrid of a printout of the Lord's prayer and handwritten scripture about prayer. I used some alpha stickers to spell out some keywords.

My spirit felt so settled after completing this page. Since I'd been praying for my son's college exam later today, I sent him a photo of it to let him know I'm thinking about details in his day.

Do YOU have someone on your heart that you'd like to focus on in prayer? Capture some sweet verses and consider sending them a photo or copy of a prayer page!

The Original BQJ has a tab set for the Fruit of the Spirit that corresponds to the pages on these at the front. of the journal

Refuge

If you have the Original Bible Quilt Journal, there are some pages following the #fruitofthespirit section that have some simple borders that provide an easy way to start a BQ page.

On this baseball stitch border page I added the "refuge" tab from the tag tab set, punching a hole in it to slide a ribbon through it for texture. Then I began writing scripture in the top lefthand corner, selecting verses on the topic of refuge.

I maintained a similar color palette of natural blues and greens to evoke a soothing feel to the overall page. I used a stencil to do one verse inside a circle to break up the blockiness, adding a strip of washi or a sticker occasionally to balance out the text.

Tip: For consistency, you could separate each of the verses with a baseball stitch. That approach would also decrease decision fatigue re: how…
