Texting a BQJ page as a Gesture of Support

Many of us have already gotten into the habit of creating BQ pages to encourage our friends and family members, especially if they are facing a particular health challenge or in a season of grief.

We can use our #biblequiltjournal pages to curate scriptures for specific situations and embellish them for the unique recipients receiving them.

Here's an example I shared a while back in the post, Pray It Forward.

In addition to giving completed BQJ pages to loved ones as a gesture of comfort, we can also take photos of our pages so we have them available to share digitally for a spontaneous connection.

Color in the Elements to Kickstart your Pages

Sometimes we may have an idea for a page, but the clarity re: pulling it off is vague. I've found that a way to kickstart momentum for my pages is to begin by coloring in the elements.

Coloring in the Christmas bulbs on the Joy to the World BQJ template

For example, I shaded in the lights on this Christmas-y page a while back then stalled out on the next step.

Recently as I was flipping through this particular BQ journal, I realized I needed some background color on the page.

I used a ruler to draw in lines diagonally. I think it helps the ornaments and lights pop out a little more to feature them when I write in verses later.

Love the ‘wallpaper’ look. It really makes the bulbs pop.
