All the textures and hues of the fall leaves showed off big time this past week.
I'm always struck by the contrast between the changing colors of the leaves and the sturdy browns of the trunks.
It reminds me to appreciate the hills and valleys we experience throughout different seasons of our lives. Without the stark contrast between the ups and downs of various challenges, we may take too much for granted and lose perspective of God's mercy throughout each phase of our growth.
Just as the vibrant hues of fall stimulate our senses, scriptures can be a balm to our souls and a gentle reminder of God's faithfulness to us.
"The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." Psalm 118:24
"the LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3
"May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you... Isaiah 55:12
"You have made known to me the path of life. You will fill me with joy in Your presence..." Psalm 16:11
"It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy." Romans 9:16
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance." Jude 1:2
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
Savor the season.
Embrace those around you.
Give yourself grace.
Trust in His mercies.
