Guard your Thoughts

We had an interesting discussion about spiritual warfare the other night in our small group. It's something we don't talk about probably as much as we should.

The next day this reading plan popped up on my Bible App called "Who Controls Your Thoughts?"

As I pondered the points made in the devotional, I decided to incorporate the accompanying scriptures into my Monthly Bible Quilt Journal.

Probably the best way to combat negative thoughts is drawing near to God in prayer and through His Word. I wrote this verse from James 4:8 in the center of the flower to demonstrate the importance of this concept.

I wrote other scriptures mentioned in the devotional in the remaining quilt blocks.

Next I embellished the page with more colorful shading and stickers.

Do you have a good plan for protecting your thoughts from the enemy? During this Lenten season I think he's got more efforts in keeping us stirred up or distracted.

The more we can saturate ourselves in Scripture the better!

I hope you enjoy creating with this flower template. Here's another example by our Bible Quilting friend, Alice, from Alabama.
