Bible Quilting verses for College Students

College kiddos heading back to campus? Sending them with a family photo?

I've got an easy #biblequilting tip for you!

When our first son went to college a couple years ago, I had the idea to Bible Quilt around the mat in a framed family photo so he would have the reminder of how we're continuing to pray over him using these favorite verses. It turned out to be a great 2-in-1gift for his dorm room that didn't take up any extra space.

So, now we're on round #2 and I'm creating a similar frame for my college-bound freshman.

I did a thin border of washi tape in his school colors to help define the space visible when the mat is in the frame.

I like to personalize a couple of the verses with my son's name incorporated into the verse, then add a brief "mom note" in a filler space.

Add a few strips of washi tape and it all comes together pretty quickly.

Put the matted photo back in the frame and your college kiddo has the option of hanging it or putting it on a desk/bedside shelf.

It's a little easier leaving a part of your heart behind on a large college campus when you've left a personalized family memento that will be a source of encouragement when your independent college kid glances at it during his/her daily routine.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "

plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
