A simple PRAYer strategy

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

Since we're deep into the Armor of God this month, I thought it might be an opportune time to share a BQJ page on prayer since that's one of our main strategies against the enemy.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." Ephesians 6:18

Are you familiar with the PRAY acronym? It's been around a loooonnng time and is a simple reminder to focus on a few particular aspects of prayer.

P = Praise

R = Repent

A = Ask

Y = Yield

I began with the Flower Border page in my original Bible Quilt Journal, coloring all the flower elements and adding some floral stickers.

Then I made a stacked block design with the letters in PRAY, which I placed down the center of the page.

Initially, I planned on adding scriptures on the left side of the page but instead I ended up using a clear flip-flap pocket to insert one of my childhood bookmarks. (It has my elementary handwriting on the back and the edges are softened with age, so this will be a safe place to tuck it in.)

As with many of my pages, I didn't have a particular finished "look" in mind when I started. I was just inspired to capture this acronym in my BQ journal.

I liked the bold look of the stacked PRAY letter blocks, so I made some into bookmarks to share with YOU! I included two sets in the download so you have the option of either a blue or white background, depending on what look you prefer (or how much ink you're willing to use!)

With 8 bookmarks in the set, you can share with your kids/grandkids, too.

Got ideas re: how to use these? Let's have a little chitchat on our next BQ Zoom coming up soon!
