Tis the season of harvesting the bounty of orchards, which provides us with some prompts to consider God's abundance and provision.
Let's use this Apples in a Basket template to express some of our gratitude for God's abounding mercy, steadfast love and abundant peace!
I began by shading in the apples while I waited for my ideas to percolate.
When I found some stickers in my stash that I could put on individual apples, I decided to focus on this verse in Jude:
"Mercy, Peace, and Love be yours in abundance."Jude, verse 2
I wrote some additional scriptures including these three keywords, shading in the quilt blocks with neutral colors on the basket.
I made a tab out of a gift tag, using a white paint pen to write the title, then tied on a shimmery gold ribbon for some extra texture.
I brushed the background with a couple different ink pads to make some neutral swirls, plucking some leaf stickers off of a printable page to finish off the autumnal look of the page.
Our Bible Quilting friend, Alice in Alabama, shared her page with me with a similar theme of Abundance. Although she sent it to me several weeks ago, I hadn't looked at it for a while. When I located it to add to this post, I was tickled to see how we had both added a tag feature, left the background open, and used some fall embellishments to balance out the page.
I hope these examples help demonstrate the similarities and differences evoked by the same template. Ready to try it?
