Oops!

Sometimes we make small handwriting mistakes as we're adding scriptures to our pages. I just discovered this tip: use a white gel pen to trace over the error done in colored marker.

Allow the white gel to dry, then write the correction over it.

Easy-peasy!

As I've mentioned previously, larger mistakes can be covered over with white out tape or decorative washi tape. It really is a personal preference and may depend on the spacing of the error.

Don't let these natural - and normal - mistakes slow down your #scripturewriting. Simply practice some of these #tipsandtricks to keep your #biblequilting pages going strong!

Oopsie-daisy!

Remember the scene in Notting Hill when Hugh Grant's character slips while trying to climb a wall, exclaiming "Oopsie-daisy!" on his way down? It was an endearing way to cover up his fumbling mistake.

Often when women are first introduced to Bible Quilting, they express uncertainty about getting started, saying something about not being "creative or artistic enough." They also say something about being afraid to make mistakes or misspellings.

I quickly offer reassurance, reminding them that each of us is uniquely designed by God with our own style and handwriting personality. I admit my own mistakes and then offer some tips to help with "cover ups" if needed.

Recently I had an "oopsy daisy" moment when a water drip smudged the BQ page I was working on. Although I tried to dab the moisture quickly, the paper still rippled up.
