I'm so grateful for artistic BQ friends who have shared their skills with us by designing some BQ templates!
The Slippers template is from Janice from West Virginia. I recently added it to my Monthly Bible Quilt Journal to coincide with our June theme, Walking with God.
This sweet template inspired me to reflect on how we can be in step with Jesus in our daily lives, loving and serving others. I decided to use each shoe to represent the two greatest commandments:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22:37-39
I experimented with pastel gelatos* for the first time and was pleased with the soft, yet vibrant, quality of color it added to the page.
I added a few more verses, discovering that I could write over the gelato colors without difficulty and also could shade with them over my handwriting.
Then I finished off the page with some stickers and washi tape.
