The Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal is available as a printable version to provide you with the most flexibility as you study various women in the Bible. The pages of this journal are not numbered so you can arrange them in whatever order you would like as you pair them with biblical characters.
This 52-page journal has more than 40 templates with unique designs for you to add scriptures and take in-depth notes on female characters in the Bible. I included a mix of female figures and generic patterns to inspire you with a variety of page starters. For these interior template pages, I like to print on 67-lb vellum bristol paper which has a lovely texture for a writing and shading with colored pencils or gelatos. My favorite pens, medium Papermate Flairs, do not bleed through this thickness of paper. If this is not accessible to you, print on regular card stock.
Also included is a 5-page set of tabs with an extensive list of women's names found in the Bible. This is not a complete compilation by any means, but it provides you with a great foundation to begin exploring women's stories throughout the Bible. I recommend printing these 5 pages on sturdy card stock for durability.
Lastly, there's a sticker page with a collection of images that you may use to decorate your BQ pages. I recommend printing this on a full page label sheet (Maaco or Avery full page clear). See my post on "Favorite Supplies for Bible Quilting" for additional tips and links.
Printing Recap:
This file is formatted to print on standard letter-sized paper/card stock (8.5" x 11"). You can choose to print out the journal all at once or to select templates as you pair them with particular characters. You can even print on colored card stock for instant background color.
Cover and 2nd page: Print 2-sided on heavy card stock (130-lb or even 160-lb)
Interior pages: 1-sided on 67-lb vellum bristol (or regular card stock if you have more of that available)
Tab pages: 1-sided on card stock for durability
Sticker sheet: full page label sheet; or print on regular paper to cut and paste onto template pages
Once you've got your pages printed, you can take them to a local print shop to have bound with a plastic coil. Add a sturdy back cover page. You do not have to include the tab pages or sticker sheet in the binding.
If you prefer not to have the journal bound, you may 3-hole punch the pages and place them directly into a 3-ring binder or insert into page protectors, then put in a binder. I have a separate listing for a Women of the Word spine label if you choose this binder option. If you're using page protectors, then you could print the file one-sided and insert the pages back-to-back. It will make your journal thicker overall, but allow you greater flexibility for adding/moving pages around. Since the pages will be loose, you can choose to work on one page at a time, then re-insert into your binder.
Another option is to assemble with a disc-bound system, using a Happy Planner punch, as shown in listing photos. This video offers an overview of my journal in progress. A disc-bound journal allows you to move pages around freely, depending on the categories you'd like to divide the women into. You can work with one page at a time on a clipboard, carrying to and from Bible study until it's complete and ready to insert into your journal. As your studying progresses, you can add more pages and update your journal with larger discs.
