About the event

I'm missing our gatherings in person around my BQ table, so let's join together virtually for a BQ Craft Night!

We'll be using the Heart Chain Template. You can download the single page printable if you don't have the 2021 Monthly BQJ or the 2021 BQ Calendar. Print on card stock and trim it to fit the BQ journal size you have. You may want an extra copy on regular xerox paper to use for cutouts. If you don't have the original BQJ but have the #abcbiblequiltjournal, you can put this one on the back side of the "L" page for an "L is Love" theme.

Ideas for dditional supplies:

scissors

glue stick

ruler

pencil and eraser

a piece of regular copy paper for tracing - - - or make a copy of the heart chain template that you'll be cutting up

4-6 pages of decorative scrapbook paper

markers/pens

colored pencils

stickers (hearts, valentine-y colors)

washi tape

stamps & ink pads (optional)

heart-shaped cookie cutters

valentines/greeting cards with elements that you can cut out

Bible & scriptures about love (you may want to select a few in advance)

I encourage you to use what you have available. Sometimes that triggers the most creativity! If you end up gathering more supplies than you need (or thought you had), then hopefully that will spur you on to do some additional pages freestyle...or to make some sweet BQ notes/cards/pages to give away for Valentine's Day coming up.

The 28 Days of Love reference list and/or flip card set is a great resource to have handy. Last year we did 29 Days of Heart, so you may find some favorite verses in that resource, too.

Sign-on info is the same as other Zoom sessions we've had. I've got 2 Zoom meetings scheduled When we run out of time with the first session, we'll all log back in for the second. The Kickstart will be at 7:30 and the Wrap-up Session will be at 8:30. My Zoom plan only includes 40-min sessions, so that's why we'll have two.  If we have technical difficulties in-between, then have a little break and log back in. I'll keep the Meeting ID and Password the same. I usually record the sessions so there's a replay available for others who can't attend.

UPDATE: I'm adding a SHOW-and-SHARE time on Saturday, Jan 30th 2:30 pm (central) for anyone who would like to share their pages after they've had a chance to put on the finishing touches. That will give us a chance for any last minute questions re: the activity and provide time to engage with each other a little more w/o the distraction of the hands-on activity.

PREP You can do AHEAD: making your stencil and cutting out hearts

This is a great option for mother-daughter-granddaughter time in the Word, whatever your ages may be! Whether you're under the same roof or joining online together from afar, this can be a fun time of fellowship for family members and friends. Make it a cozy pajama night and continue your family time after our session.

Do you have a friend you're missing? Invite her to join in and rekindle an interest in a shared activity you can continue along with in the months ahead.

I'm looking forward to getting crafty with y'all Friday night. See ya then!!
