I decided to experiment with my computer software in both Word and Pages on Mac. Below is is a Fruit of the Spirt template that was created using the shapes off the Pages program.

      Christmas templates

Here's a few templates to help prepare your heart for the holiday season! πŸŽ„β€οΈπŸŽ„ Some of these are hot off the presses, so I don't have samples to show. I'd love to see what you all do with them!! πŸ’₯ This BELLS template is a festive way to gather scripture for the Christmas season or any celebration. Do you follow a structured Advent plan? Some people do a daily passage, while others do a weekly ( the four Sundays leading up to Christmas ), and others may focus on a monthly theme. This is 4-page Advent set has a lot of open space to adapt to whichever focus you choose! The holly ties the 4 pages loosely together. Have you tried this Three Trees template yet? It's a fun one to color and add in bold words/phrases to depict the main points of the Christmas story! The Patchwork Quilt template can be used for a variety of themes, including Christmas. It's conducive to combining patterns of paper or washi tape! Word for the Year December is a great time to be praying over what your #wordfortheyear will be for 2020. I don't have mine locked in yet, but I'm toying around with a few ideas... what about you? πŸŽ„ Locals, swing by one of the December event s and snag some of these festive templates to create with during the holidays ! ✨Share your Christmas-y pages with us in the comments section below:

      Grandmother's Flower Garden

I love how our Bible Quilting community is blossoming like a sweet flower garden, growing in the Lord together! God has blessed us each with different gifts and interests that are as distinctive as a wildflower garden full of bright colors and vibrant textures. As we gather around my BQ table, we're able to "ooh" and "ahh" over each other's creative ideas and beautiful pages, encouraging one another and sharing our hearts. I try to provide snippets of our sessions with our "virtual" BQ community table through the website and FB group. I've enjoyed connecting with women in other states and countries, hearing about their unique journeys of faith. When BQ friends in different states share their ideas and pages, it connects us in a special way. Like wildflower seeds scattered by the wind and sprouting in little bunches, our BQ community blossoms as we nurture our roots in the Word. This template was shared by Alice, a quilter in Alabama, who has been meeting with friends each week to Bible Quilt together. She shared this page and graciously agreed for it to be adapted as a template so that others may use it. Last weekend I got to play around with this sweet design. Since I had a spot available in my BQ journal after pages on Glory & Honor , I settled on the idea of doing this page on Power . Initially, I thought I'd add verses inside the petals, but I ended up using washi tape and patterned paper to highlight the flower, making it look a little more quilt-y. (Is that a word?? you know what I mean!) #grandmothersflowergarden #Gisfor__ #guide #power This template is now available in the shop . I'm excited to see how it inspires you! 30 Days of _____

There are so many 30-day or 31-day series on social media that you can use this 2-page template set for to harvest verses on a particular theme quickly. (Be sure and check references, though, because sometimes there are typos or misquotes. ) I'm using a #30daysofgratitude series I've been following to fill in my pages. I thought I'd share how I'm using the flip card set to gather up my verses. This allows me to type/write out full verses to gauge the length of the verses to determine the main word/phrase I'll add to my #biblequiltjournal page. It also gives me a handy set to carry with me in my purse/car so the daily verse is reinforced as I move throughout my day. You could also pass along a completed flip card set to a daughter/mother or friend to give them a quick start on a page, or just to bless them. The squares on the templates are intentionally not numbered, so you can have variety as you do different themes. It also gives you a chance to number in whatever sequence works for you. You can handwrite, stamp or use stickers to number each square. I finished my verses on my flip card set, then glued my template pages into my Bible Quilt journal. I did a washi border around the edges on both pages so the 2-page spread looks more continuous. Then I started adding verses... We're halfway through #gratitudedocumented2019. How is your month going?? Starting page two... The squares are small for some of the verses. Sometimes I'll just feature the main phrase, so I can add a doodle or sticker that illustrates the concept. ( ex: music stanza on day 20 or the river on day 23) I love how the patchwork of verses builds throughout the month and you can begin to see the connections between verses as they blend together for your theme. Now I've got a 2-page spread for any future 30-day month to focus on the concept of Gratitude. It's also now a great prayer resource to focus on having a heart of gratitude during difficult times. What theme will you use for your #30daysof_____ templates?? Please share your ideas/pages in comments below!
