Since everyone does a slightly different version of Advent, I left these templates open for you to draw in your own stitch lines and have plenty of space for all your fun holiday embellishments!
I thought the holly was a simple element to tie all the pages together. You can use these pages as a set, a pair of 2-page spreads, or individually depending on if you're doing a daily, weekly, or 4-Sunday theme.
I'm using my set to follow along with the Illustrated Faith's 25-day "Unto Us" series. I prepped my page with some holiday washi tape. I used the Stockings because to me they symbolize a child's eager anticipation of what's to come...and I'd like to capture some of that joyful waiting!
This particular series gives several scripture readings for each day. I'm reading through and selecting a key verse that impacts me and emphasizes the message of the gifts we've received through Christ. If I had planned this out more, I probably would have looked for some gift/present stickers or washi tape. Instead, I'm using what I have on hand...which means cutting some of my flip cards that have cute gift images on them! #usewhatyouhave
I didn't start by coloring in the title on this template because I wasn't sure what my color palette was going to be. It has gradually taken on the colors in the stocking washi tape, so I'm going to stick with those for now.
As I started page 2 I remembered I had a "peace" stamp. I totally messed up the alignment, so I ended up stamping "peace" onto card stock to cover it up. (Does anyone else have a love-hate relationship with stamps??)
I had some verses already printed out on colored paper from a previous project, so I added one on day #20 to provide a little more variety. Right now it looks pretty dominant on the page, but I think once the page is full that it will just be a bold color block.
We're almost there!!
