"T" is for...

Edited: 4 days ago

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

This was one of my Mom's favorite verses and is a treasured one to me since we clung to it throughout her cancer journey.

As my son prepares college applications, this is one that we pray over him as well. There are so many paths our children can take, so praying that that follow God's path is our heart's desire. ❤️

"T" is for... Trust

Stencils work great to add some circular shapes to your pages. Tip: If you don't have a stencil handy, simply trace around the bottom of a mug or cup. #usewhatyouhave

There are so many verses on trust that you can do a full page or even a 2-page spread.

I played around with these cute tea tags from I cut out a teacup shape from colorful card stock, glued around the edges and left it open at the top to slide in my TRUST tea tag. I hole-punched the top of the tag and threaded baker's twine, placing this embellishment at the edge of the page so that the added bulk from the twine doesn't keep journal from closing.

I'm incorporating some other textures from printouts and this #wordnerd set from Illustrated Faith. Once I had a couple verses going along this theme of teaching and training, I decided to do a whole page.

How are you creating on your "T" page? Please share in Comments section below:

  • I was inspired by some of my international friends to make more of the Bible Quilt products accessible to those of you joining in long-distance. 😊 So...I've added a printable version of the ABC Bible Quilt journal into the online shop . I'm experimenting with the size being 8.5 x 11 so it's more manageable to print and not have to trim down to the typical 7 x 10 BQ journal size. Once you've got it printed, you can hole-punch the set (minus the tabs and ABC flip cards) to put into a -ring binder. Or, you could take the printed set to a local print shop and have it bound with a spiral binding of your choice. We'll see how this goes! If you choose this option, please let me know how it works for you!
  • This website is public. Anyone can view it. If you want to engage more by adding comments and sharing page photos, then you need to become a site member. Click where it says "log in" at the upper right hand corner of the homepage and follow the prompts. Think of the BQ Community tab as a forum in which to share with one another on a variety of topic boards. My hope is to create resources that we can all access and contribute too. I've laid out the structure and each of you can build upon it! For example, I've got posts on the "ABC Bible Quilt journal" for each letter of the alphabet. These will be the main entry for each letter. As you share comments or photos, enter these under the comments section. The next person that comes along to view that letter will see the main post and also be able to scroll through the comments to see some other ideas. You can view the "A" board to see the sequence of sharing in the comments. Sometimes I will add to the "meat" of the letter-of-the-week post or maybe even add a photo from a page someone has shared with me. If you want to receive notifications re: updates on the ABC board, then click "follow" on the upper righthand corner of that menu board. Hope this little videoclip helps clarify things further for you!
  • We all know that the Bible is full of encouragement and wisdom, but sometimes it's good to look at these truths in a new perspective. I think that's one of the fun things about Bible Quilting the #abcsofthebible. You can snatch bits and pieces of verses throughout the Bible to create a beautiful page of new ideas/terms, perhaps seeing things in new light. Here's a glimpse of some of my #ABCbiblequiltjournal pages so far: Notice that some of my pages still have space for more verses...this is an on-going process of collecting beloved verses in a unique way. Stay tuned for another round of #abcsofthebible & join in at any time! The NEW #ABCbiblequiltjournal is here! Read more...
